Wooden Cabbage House Near Dorchester Dorset
The perfect ‘Bed and Breakfast’ in a spacious and very comfortable home, with the most welcoming hosts who will give you an unforgettable stay. Down a private drive, with stunning views, peace and quiet. Just 10 miles north of Bridport or Dorchester.
The house is stylishly furnished in a traditional and contemporary style with lovely paintings and soft furnishings.
It was a 'keeper's cottage' until renovated and extended into a larger house in 2005, at which time the whole house was modernised.
The three bedrooms have very comfortable beds and pillows, white linen, and TV, hair dryers, tea and coffee trays, with dressing gowns available. The bathrooms are all modern, with good water pressure for all showers. Views from the bedrooms are delightful, and guests continually comment on the sheer peace and quiet, the tranquility and beautiful location that we enjoy.
Martyn and Susie are excellent hosts and give you a very warm welcome from the moment you arrive - making you feel at ease, and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts, served in the garden room, are considered a real treat, with fresh fruit juices, cereals (one homemade), yoghurt, fresh fruit platters, full English Breakfast (with local organic sausages and eggs, bacon, and tomatoes and mushrooms), toast with homemade jams and marmalades. Tea and coffee.
Dining 'in' is by prior arrangement where we offer a three course dinner with wine served, or there are several very good pubs/restaurants within easy and local driving distance.
The flower filled garden room also has a sitting room area with log fire and TV for more relaxation.
Martyn offers a very good advisory service for what to do during the day, which may include :
Days out include visiting lovely local gardens such as Forde Abbey, Mapperton Gardens, Abbotsbury Gardens, or National Trust houses and gardens; walks locally from the house, or on Eggardon Hill (a local Roman Fort) or on the Jurassic Coastal headlands at West Bay and Eype or visit Lyme Regis, Bridport, Portland and Weymouth, Corfe Castle and Studland, or market towns of Dorchester, Sherborne, Beaminster and Crewkerne.
