Virginia Lake Caravan Park offers camping and fishing set in the beautiful and peaceful fenlands, between King's Lynn and Wisbech.
Situated in Norfolk just 3 miles from the Cambridgeshire/Lincolnshire borders, Virginia Lake comprises of a 97 pitch touring caravan park and tent site together with a 2 acre coarse fishing lake giving you 'Peace and Tranquility in the Fens'. To compliment this, we also have an excellent clubhouse, superb toilet and shower blocks, full disabled facilities throughout the park and a well stocked shop for all of your grocery and fishing requirements.
The English Tourism Council has rated us 4 Star and the AA as 4 Pennants, so you are reassured that you can expect careful attention to detail in the provision of all the services and facilities we have here and that we rank among the industries best.
Set in glorious fenland countryside Virginia Lake is OPEN ALL YEAR ROUND (including Christmas and New Year) with availability of hard standing and grass pitches for tents, caravans and motor-homes. All sizes of units are catered for including the largest A.R.V.'s.
CARAVAN STORAGE is available here at the park, and LONG TERM AND SEASONAL PITCHES are also available if required.
Caravan/motor-home rallies are welcome.
Electric hook-up points are provided for all pitches on the park, along with plentiful water points.
PETS are most welcome and the site also includes a designated dog Walk which takes you around the perimeter of the entire park and lake along a raised, secluded embankment. From here, you can appreciate the serenity and beauty of our fenland landscape and catch some stunning views. we respect responsible dog owners who keep their pets on a lead and who keep The Park clean of fouling for our other guests.
The Clubhouse is a spacious complex with a fully licensed bar selling a large selection of different bitters and lagers on tap with wines, soft drinks and approximately 100 different spirits available.
Open in the evenings every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, you will find that along with pool tables, fruit machines, dart board and a large screen television, there is Bingo every Sunday night.
A large and varied menu of quality bar meals is served within the friendy family atmosphere which can also be available for 'take out' meals . Children are most welcome at all times when accompanied by an adult.
Functions can also be held in 'The Club'. Parties, Wedding Receptions, Christenings etc., are all welcome by arrangement. Buffet, Hog-Roast or B-B-Q catering is also available.
The Park provides new purpose built amenity blocks for visitors, comprising of fully heated showers and toilet facilities which are complete with wash basins, hand dryers and hair dryers. Additionally, there is a disabled/family shower room available if required.
Other onsite services include a chemical disposal point, dish washing, laundry room and baby changing facilities, these too are fully accessible to the disabled visitor. A washing machine, tumble dryer, clothes airers, washing lines, service iron and board complete the amenity services available.
We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of these amenties, all of which are cleaned daily, and respectfully ask that all guests appreciate our efforts and leave the facilities as you would wish to find them.
In case of forgotten essentials the on site shop stocks amongst many other things, washing powder, fabric softner, pegs, washing-up liquid, dish cloths, shower gel, shampoo, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes etc. etc.
Stocked with Roach, Rudd, Bream, Barbel, Perch, Chub, Tench and Carp of 30 pounds plus, the 2 acre fishing lake offers 31 fishing pegs including 2 disabled areas.
The syndicate lake is only available to be fished by syndicate members or by guests staying on site. Although all ages are welcome, children under 16 may only fish if accompanied by an adult.
Fishing is from 8 A.M. until just before dusk only with NO night fishing permitted.
National rod licences are required, and basic fishing rules do apply - these include: all fish are to be landed and returned by net, an unhooking mat must be used on each peg, barbless hooks, no braid and no nut baits. Ground bait should only be used in moderation.
Please note that dogs are not allowed at the lakeside, children if unaccompanied by an adult or cycling around the lake.
Central to Virginia Lake is The Shop, which is well stocked with both general groceries and fishing goods.
You will find a comprehensive selection of grocery basics here on site. Should a large shop be required there are 24 hour supermarkets in both the neighbouring towns of Wisbech and King's Lynn.
Futher more, there is a large selection of local village shops, post offices, butchers, public houses, takeaways and garages in the surrounding villages.
We are also official stockists of CALOR GAS which is available for purchase on site.
