Torquay Coastal Zoo

Introduction

Seahorses, seals, penguins, stingrays and more...visit Torquay's coastal Zoo for a great day out.

Living Coasts is open every day (except Christmas Day) from 10am. With exhibits outdoors and indoors, there's plenty to do whatever the weather!

Last entry is at 5pm and the site closes at 6pm until Saturday and then from Sunday 27th September onwards last entry is at 4:30pm closing at 5:30pm.

Attractions include:

Auks Underwater - Your chance to view the descendants of the great auk diving and swooing efortlessly below the waves.

Pirate Zone - Under 5's play area, reading zone, games, colouring and crafts.

Local Coasts - Explore and discover the majesty of our fantastic local coasts. Here you'll find a host of new creatures like seahorses, cuttlefish and starfish.

Penguin Beach - Spend some time with our Penguin Patrollers and learn how to tell penguins apart. Catch one of our penguin feeding sessions as our keepers come and fee the African and Macaroni penguins right next to you.

Mangroves: the roots of the sea - Get up close to an array of fascinating wildlife frim stingrays and pufferfish to fiddler crabs and mudskippers.

Water play and refreshments area - Sit back and relax in the glorious Torbay weather while the kids enjoy our new water feature.

Waders Estuary - Stroll past our estuary and watch the elegant wading birds in their natural habitat.

Fur Seals - Have a seat in our amphitheatre and take in a feeding time talk. Come back later for a truly original performance that is full of surprises! See the seals under water too.

Discovery Zone - Play our state of the art games by touching screens and stamping the floor.

Trade Winds gift shop - Be sure to visit our amazing gift shop before you leave; and come back anytime, without entry to the attraction.

Cafe - You don't need a ticket to have lunch or a coffee on the terrace of our fantastic cafe and take in the one of the best views of Torbay.

Discovery Trails - Go around the site again for FREE and follow one of our trails, learning about any number of wildlife facts as you go.
  • There is plenty of parking in Beacon Quay with easy access to Living Coasts.
