Located on a small English country estate in the idyllic Cotswold village of Southrop, with its 15th Century Manor House and Norman Church, Thyme is rooted in the idea of creating a home for family, good friends and good food in the secluded setting of one of England's most beautiful landscapes.
A place to stay. Thyme is a ‘place to stay’ offering guests the experience of a chic boutique hotel in the unique environment of a country estate. Guests can stay in bedrooms & cottages suites, enjoy the elegant drawing rooms, sophisticated cocktail bar and peaceful environment of the beautifully restored buildings. Breakfast is served at the ‘chef’s table’ in their stunning medieval Tithe Barn, with menus inspired by the fresh seasonal produce picked from Thyme’s kitchen gardens, with eggs from the estate's chickens, geese and quail, alongside freshly baked croissants, homemade granola and jams. Prices start from £260 per night.
The drawing room in Thyme House, Fifi’s Room, is a quiet place for guests to enjoy during the daytime, alternatively The Baa, Thyme’s spectacular guest drawing room and glamorous bar, offers light lunches, afternoon teas, evening cocktails and English wines; the authentic medieval barn is also perfect for impeccable parties up to 40 people; and the gorgeous restaurant at Thyme’s village pub The Swan at Southrop, is also influenced by the kitchen garden produce and the ingredients sourced from local suppliers. Guests can also enjoy a range of cookery ‘experiences’ at their state-of-the-art cookery school, considered to be ‘the beating heart of Thyme’.
Accommodation. The bedrooms, cottages and houses at Thyme are nestled around the magnificently restored barns that are at the heart of the estate. Thyme House has eight beautiful bedrooms and there are three one-bedroom cottage suites dotted around a quiet courtyard. Each room is unique, furnished with an eclectic mix of English and French antique furniture, guaranteeing a perfectly comfortable stay.
Cottages. For the more independent traveller who would like their own private living spaces, Thyme offers 2 cottages. The Tallet - a four bedroom cottage with an impressive living space, enjoying access to The Baa and breakfasting in the Tithe Barn. Old Walls - A luxury holiday cottage in the village a five minute walk away. Old Walls is the picture perfect Cotswold cottage where dogs & children under the age of 12 are welcome. Breakfast baskets can also be provided.
THYME HOUSE. This large and beautifully appointed house can be taken exclusively and is perfect for family celebrations, shooting parties and important occasions. Sleeping 16 guests in eight individually designed bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, Thyme House offers a selection of stunning entertaining spaces for you to enjoy. The house is staffed, you will be welcomed by our dedicated House Host who is there to look after you during your stay. Private dining is available by prior arrangement
Things to do. A cookery class in the Thyme Cookery School or a morning with their foraging expert is a perfect addition to a stay on the estate, as well as private beauty treatments in guest’s rooms, a clay pigeon shoot, cycle hire with satnav maps or simply rambling through the beautiful Cotswold countryside.
