MAIN FEATURES

  • 4 Star
  • Group Friendly

Marloes, a small and charming village, is situated within the Pembrokeshire coastal National Park, an area of outstanding beauty. The coastal path is 600 metres away and Marloes sands, a twenty minute walk. There is a village pub, well stocked local shop, post office and recently opened bistro.

The Old Post Office, a detached building, was built at the turn of the century, with a further extension added more recently. Accommodation consists of a five bedroomed house with secluded gardens, and a one bedroom annexe with private patio area. Both have been renovated to a high standard. They can be rented as separate units or together for large parties. The house is an ideal chill-out home for a large group of friends, two or extended families. The Annexe suits a couple or a small family with child and baby.

The House - 5 bedrooms
Entrance to the main house is via a side gate and path. The house is surrounded to the side and rear by gardens with well established plants offering seclusion and privacy. To the front of the house is a parking area for three cars. The ground floor consists of two living areas and a large kitchen all of which are open plan. This is a very light space, with large french windows leading out on to a patio area ideal - for barbeques.

Furnishings and wall colours are quiet and understated, floorings are natural - solid oak and terracotta tiles. The inner sitting room has a wood burning stove, great for any chilly evening - not only the colder months; two sofas, an oak coffee table and a shelving unit housing TV, video and music system. The smaller sitting room contains a futon, two leather armchairs and a coffee table. There is a large hall area with extensive hanging space for coats and boots, an upright piano, and a small library.

The kitchen is equipped with an oil fired raeburn stove (providing central heating & hot water as well as a slow burning stove great for tasty roasts and casseroles), an electric oven, a gas hob with wok attachment, a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher.

A large oak dining table with extra leaves will easily seat fourteen. A utility room - ideal for hanging out wetsuits or walking boots - is equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, belfast sink and wooden draining board.

On the first floor, there are five bedrooms, a bathroom (with shower & bath) and a shower room. Two bedrooms are very large with 5ft beds. The other three rooms are part of the original Post Office and, whilst small, have a charming cottage feel; two of them have 4'6" beds, the third has a 3' bed. A travelling cot is available. Four of the rooms have louvered shutters, the fifth has venetian blinds.

The Annexe - 1 bedroom
The Annexe is part of the original building, which has been converted into a spacious ground floor, one-bedroom flat with private patio area at the rear. Wooden floors run throughout, apart from the kitchen, which has terracotta tiles. It has central heating.

The sitting room and dining area are open-plan. The sitting room is furnished with two, two seater sofas, a television/video, a dining table and chairs. It is a very light area with two large, wide silled windows.

Two steps lead down to the kitchen which overlooks the patio area and rear garden. Utilities include a gas hob and extractor fan, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and integrated washer/dryer. A breakfast bar and two high chairs provides an alternative eating area. Access to the patio is via a side gate.

A large bedroom is furnished with a 5ft bed and a single pull-out mattress, a wardrobe, two small bedside chest of drawers and a comfortable armchair.

The bathroom is fitted with a Victorian style bathtub, with telephone style shower head and taps.
