The Green Dragon Flaunden
The Green Dragon is a delighful and historic country pub and restaurant in Flaunden near Hemel Hempstead in the heart of the Chiltern Hills in Herts and infamously linked with Hitler's foreign minister Von Ribbentrop and notorious English traitor Guy Burgess.
The Green Dragon is a timeless country village pub managed by the same family for nearly 80 years.
Connoisseurs of English village pub culture will love The Green Dragon - a freehouse often described by surprised and delighted visitors as ‘a proper local’. Certainly, the relaxed ambience created by the beautiful, sympathetically-extended building - much of it dating from the 17th Century - is unarguably enticing.
There is a superb choice of refreshment can be savoured within either of The Dragon’s two distinctive bar areas. Deceptively spacious though intimately cosy, together they provide seating for over 50 people, as well as more-than-ample standing room for those who prefer to circulate whilst socialising.
The Dragon’s historic Tap Room, for which time has virtually stood-still since it was re-constructed in 1838 - the same year as the current village Church nearby.
