Stay 5 Star accommodation in the beautiful Kent countryside and still be within easy reach of Canterbury and London!
The Granary is a LUXURIOUS COTTAGE FOR 4 IN A HAVEN OF PEACE AND TRANQUILLITY.
Situated outside the village of Waltham near Canterbury, 17th century Yockletts Farm is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty over looking Yockletts Bank nature reserve with its wonderful orchids, wildlife and footpaths.
The farm itself is mainly laid to arable, once being hop gardens, with the remains of an old twin kiln oast of years gone by. We graze cattle on the gently sloping fields, with plenty of easily accessible footpaths all around so you can enjoy some of the most beautiful views in Kent. It is also a wonderful area to cycle or horse ride.
Yockletts Bank is probably one of the best sites for lady orchid and there are also excellent colonies of twayblade, common spotted, early-purple and fly orchids. The best time to see them is from May through to late June.
Canterbury is 5 miles away, Ashford about 10 miles and the Channel Tunnel rail link is about 15 minutes drive.
There are a number of excellent pubs within easy reach, one being a high class French restaurant, a must for a special occasion. There is also a post office and general store with newsagent in Stelling Minnis village.
The Granary is a newly converted Grade II listed barn, beautifully and sensitively restored to retain many original features such as vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, Kent peg tile roof and black timber clad with all solid oak windows, doors and solid oak flooring. The accommodation consists of two double bedrooms, both en suite, lounge/dining room and fully fitted kitchen.
There is a lovely patio with table and chairs plus bbq and a small garden. Views from the cottage are of the nature reserve and beautiful valley. Heating is by an oil central heating system. All linen and towels are provided and a courtesy hospitality basket is also provided.
Sorry no smoking or pets.
There is ample parking at the side of the cottage.
Lounge/dining room has a vaulted ceiling with two leather sofas, one being a double sofa bed. Freesat television with DVD player. Solid oak dining table and four chairs.
Kitchen is of bespoke build made from solid oak with granite worktop and porcelain sink. Washing machine, dishwasher, ceramic hob and fan oven. Microwave, fridge and freezer.
Bedroom one is a twin bedded room with vaulted ceiling, Freesat television with DVD player. Leather sofa and Laura Ashley furnishing through out. All the furniture is solid oak. The en suite shower room has an extra large shower cubicle, toilet, basin and heated towel rail, all fitted out to the highest standard.
