Welcome to Riding House Farm Cottages in the heart of the Peak District National Park!
The two cottages on our farm were created from an ancient stone barn into two lovely self-contained cottages offering the highest standard of accommodation, and comfort yet retaining many original features. They have both been awarded the coveted 5-stars Gold award. VisitEngland’s unique Gold awards are given in recognition of exceptional quality within a property's star rating, or for outperforming a star rating grading - the highest grade given by the tourist authority.

Shepherd’s Cottage is a two-bedroom cottage, one double and one twin. The cottages has two bathrooms which is ideal for four people. The original oak trusses, and beams feature everywhere upstairs in Shepherd’s Cottage. It has been awarded a five star grading by the tourist authority.
Everything is brand new - the furnishings and equipment are to the highest standard with careful attention to detail to make your stay memorable. We welcome well behaved dogs by prior arrangement. WiFi also available.

Riding House Farm is a traditional Derbyshire hill farm rearing beef and sheep. It nestles under the Losehill Ridge with wonderful south facing views across the Hope Valley. It is a walkers’ paradise with direct access to the footpath network.

Six friendly pub serving home cooked food and an Italian restaurant in Castleton village 1 mile, post office/newsagents, general store. Spar shop in Hope (8am - 10 pm), 2 cafes, Chinese restaurant, Indian restaurant, pizza delivery, art/craft gallery - and the chippie is just 4 miles away!
Walking from the door
Glorious walking from the front door to Mam Tor ridge, Castleton's caverns or up the Edale valley and on to Win Hill towards Derwent and Ladybower - or down the valley past the Roman fort site to Bamford, Hathersage and Stanage Edge.

Castleton has Peveril Castle, Peak Park information centre, Blue John Caverns Treak Clife cavern, peak Cavern and lots of gift shops, cafes and pubs
Eyam (5 miles) - has village heritage and Eyam Hall is well worth a visit.
Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Lyme Park are all lovely houses to visit within 12 miles.
Both Manchester and Sheffield are accessible by train from tiny Hope station (1.5 miles).
Bakewell and Buxton (excellent July Arts festival) are within 12 miles)
Fishing, golf, summer swimming, gliding and climbing all within 5 miles. Pony trekking 3 miles.
