England's third most important stone circle after Stonehenge and Avebury.
The Rollright Stones is an ancient site located on the Oxfordshire/Warwickshire border in the Cotswolds in England, close to the village of Long Compton, just north of Chipping Norton. The complex consists of three main elements, The Kings Men stone circle, the King Stone, and the Whispering Knights. The name “Rollright” is believed to derive from “Hrolla-landriht”, the land of Hrolla.
The Stones are open to the public every day from sunrise to sunset for a very modest entry fee of £1 for adults and 50p for children over 7.
Directions: Finding the stones: Heading on the A3400 from Chipping Norton towards Long Compton turn left towards Little Rollright and the stones are a short way from the turning on the left.
