Padstow Carnival Week
Padstow Carnival Week is due to take place this year (2012) between 30th July - 5th August, with organisers expecting the biggest and most successful carnival to date.
The picture-postcard port of Padstow is the scene for a week of frivolities, including live music, pub quizzes and kids entertainment.
The carnival is enjoyed by those enjoying their holidays in Cornwall and locals alike. Thousands of visitors will join residents in celebrating all things local, with the week culminating in a grand carnival parade.
The town is a renowned working fishing port, a popular seaside holiday destination and also now one of the country’s top foodie havens. Padstow is always in demand, particularly in carnival season.
Supplementing the usual attractions such as boat trips and surfing along the stunning Cornish coastline, carnival week sees a number of pubs, cafés and restaurants put on a variety of events including live folk music, dancing and Padstow-focused quizzes.
It wouldn’t be Padstow without a celebration of all things seafood, and small producers showcase their delicacies alongside established names such as local hero Rick Stein. Sample the mouthwatering fresh fish, local cider and anything else that takes your fancy.
