The large white-painted house is set in its own peaceful grounds in a conservation area on the edge of the village. Open from February to October.
It's a stone's throw from hidden-away High Street and Fore Street, one of the area's most charming, best-kept secrets. A ten minute stroll takes you to the historic harbour and coastpath. Our twin and double rooms, all ensuite or with private facilities, have been fully refurbished in crisp, contemporary style. There's a spacious lounge with roaring open fire in the Winter and for Summer, a garden in which to unwind and relax. Orchard Lodge offers easy parking, whilst being handy for local transport. The village’s oldest pub and a handy shop are just yards away. We welcome walkers and cyclists and have facilities for storing equipment and drying wet weather gear. We can also help with pick up/drop off and kit transfer.
The contemporary theme continues throughout the new-look Orchard Lodge. Crisp white linen, cosy deep-pile towels and carefully chosen furnishings add to the simple style and airy surroundings.
We're delighted to have been given a prestigious Gold award by the Green Tourism Business Scheme. Shelley is an Ambassador for CoaST - the Cornwall Sustainable Tourism Project - and helps other businesses in the area learn more about environmentally-friendly tourism. We're also members of the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, South West Coast Path Association, English Heritage and life members of the National Trust.
We began our move towards sustainable tourism the minute we took over Orchard Lodge. It started with using food that’s locally produced and sourced and has extended into farming with our own pig for our very own pork and sausages; we installed the latest energy efficient central heating, windows and insulation and our latest project, solar water heating from roof-top panels is fully operational; we also use a 100 per cent renewable source for electricity.
