The Old Dairy is an open plan, largely one level holiday cottage sleeping 4-5 people.


High season: £475 - £550 per week

Low season: £450 per week

Short breaks: from £300

Weekly lets Friday to Friday or Monday to Monday, and short breaks normally a three night stay commencing Friday or four nights for the price of three commencing Monday. These prices are based on up to four people sharing.

Cottage information:

The light and spacious barn conversion has a southerly aspect with scenic views from all rooms, there is central heating and double glazing throughout.

The cottage, in Ashford-in-the-Water, near Bakewell, is predominantly on one level with a very large, stone flagged open plan living area incorporating a well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher dining area seating up to 7 people.

The comfortably furnished lounge area features a high apex ceiling with exposed timbers and a log burning stove. The front windows have views towards the Crackendale valley.

Level access to a twin room with exposed roof trusses.

Level access to family shower room with thermostatic control shower cubicle, toilet and basin with shaver point/light.

Two steps leads to a further double bedroom with vaulted ceiling and en-suite bathroom with thermostatic overbath shower, toilet and basin with shaver point and light.

Bed linen and heating are included.

There is a double sofa bed and an extra single bed/cot can be provided in the twin room, for a small extra charge.

Dogs welcome by prior arrangement for a small extra charge.

Strictly no smoking.


  • The garden area for guests' use is bordered by fence/hedge and has views toward open countryside, a gravel/lawn area with picnic table. This area is gated proving an enclosed environment for children to play.

  • Guests also have access to the large wildlife pond that is home to Mallards, Coots, Moorhens, frogs, toads, newts, an abundance of fish and occasional heron!

  • The private gate to the Monsal Trial is accessed through the fields behind the cottage via the gate off the main driveway.
