The Old Bakehouse is within easy reach of notable Peak District attractions such as Chatsworth House, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, the historic Haddon and Hardwick Halls and the famous villages of Eyam and Castleton.
The house is also just minutes away from some of the most striking scenery of the Dark Peak.
There are many enjoyable walks nearby including a walk by the banks of the River Derwent to Baslow and into the parklands of Chatsworth House or take a short drive into the pretty and popular market town of Bakewell.
Recently restored, this accommodation dating back to the 14th century provides high quality, character and generous accommodation of immense character.
Original beams feature throughout the property. In addition, the fabrics and furnishings have been carefully coordinated to reflect the properties full character.
You enter the cottage into the welcoming and imposing dining hall which has a traditional Derbyshire open fire place. To your left is the first of two sitting rooms from which there is an original box stair which leads to a double bedroom with shower room/toilet ensuite.
To the right of the dining hall is a ground floor cloakroom area with a toilet from which an inner hall leads to the fully equipped kitchen/breakfast area. From here there is a glazed atrium and patio doors leading onto the flagged patio and garden area.
Off the atrium is a large spacious sitting room with double glazed doors opening on two elevations onto the patio and secured walled orchard garden. There is also a separate utility room.
The main staircase from the dining hall lead to five first floor bedrooms. At the top of the stairs to your left are two bedrooms.
One a double room and the other a triple room consisting of one double bed and one single.
At the top of the stairs to your right is a twin room and the master bedroom which consists of a king size bed and an ensuite bathroom/shower over. There is also a family bathroom on this floor with a bath /shower over.
In the separate annex in the grounds of the house there is a further first floor double bedroom with and ensuite shower room/toilet.
There are also 2 fold up beds that can be used in most of the bedrooms at the discretion of the guests.
The garden is private walled garden which is secure and lawned.
