Oakfield B & B Minehead Somerset
Affordable luxury at Oakfield BB in Minehead with seaviews foodie treats fabulous breakfasts and a genuinely warm welcome
Built in the early 1900s as a hotel for vicars, Oakfield B&B was reborn in 2013 as a 21st-century boutique B&B. Downstairs it's an eclectic mix: vintage oddities sit alongside mid-century pieces and Art Deco finds. Upstairs there are two huge ensuite guestrooms: expect complimentary WiFi, deep carpets, superb mattresses and room to kick off your shoes and relax.
'Oak' - an apartment-sized suite - has a King bed at one end and its own roomy sitting area at the other. 'Birch' - a slightly smaller, luxury room - has a Superking, which can be split into two twins. Both suites have desks, radios, comfy seating, iPod docks and big flatscreen televisions.
Huge quirky ensuite bathrooms have both bathtubs and walk-in 'carwash' showers.
Combine this with idyllic breakfasts, walks on the moor and the heady scent of blossom-filled gardens, and you've got all the makings of the perfect wind-down weekend. Even the most jaded of souls will be lifted by a stay here.
