This is a self-service library. Staff are available to help you with your reading choices or if you wish to make an enquiry.

All Cornwall libraries can provide information on living, working or studying in another European Union country.


  • Nine computers with fast Broadband Internet connections (please see library fees and charges, booking and acceptable use policy). Free Internet access for children.
  • WiFi - free to library members and visitors who take out temporary membership
  • Printing in black and white or colour
  • Black and white photocopier
  • Microfiche/microfilm reader.
  • Scanner  (printing charges apply.
  • Selection of daily and Cornish newspapers.
  • Applications for a National Concessions Bus Pass can be made on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10:00am to 12noon 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Disabled access

Parking is next door in a public car park which has disabled bays.

Regular events and activities

  • Bookstart
    For babies, toddlers and their carers, on the first Wednesday of the month, 10:30am - 11:30am, free. Check out the books, sing songs and have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee.
  • Citizen's Advice Bureau
    Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30am - 3:00pm, appointments only.
  • Homework help sessions
    For all ages, held every day, 3:30pm - 6:00pm.
  • Play reading group
    Meets the third Friday in the month from 2:00pm - 3:00pm.
  • Poetry group  
    A poetry group meets on the second Friday of the month, 11:00am - 12noon.
  • Readers’ groups
    Newquay Readers’ Group meets in the library on the first Friday of the month, 3:00pm - 4:00pm. Come along for a friendly and informal discussion, tea and biscuits. Each month we cover a new book and we try to provide for all tastes. So, whether you are looking for something new or just want to share your favourite book, come along and join in this free event. All are welcome. 
    Newquay U3A Readers’ Group meets on the last Friday in the month from 10:00am.
    Trenance Parents Group meet on the first Monday in the month from 9:00am - 10:00am.
  • Royal National Institute for the Deaf
    A representative from the RNID is in the library on the first Thursday of the month from 10:00am - 1:00pm to help people with any questions regarding hearing problems that they, their friends or relatives may have.
  • Storytime
    For pre-school children, held every Monday at 2:00pm during term-time.
