We are open from 1145am until late, seven days a week, 51 weeks of the year, serving the very best traditional Fish and Chip Shop fayre along with many daily and homemade specials such as homemade fish cakes, crab cakes, pea fritters and cheese and onion fry it's. Also included in our menu are pies, BBQ chicken, homemade curries, chilli and many other options.
We have a reputation for looking to provide sustainable options and we were the principle fish and chip restaurant featured on Channel 4's Hugh's Fish Fight, with manager Shaun Hattons creation the Mackerel Bap. We now continue to offer various sustainable options such as the new smoked kipper and crab cakes.
Many celebrities have paid us a visit in recent years including TV Chefs Hugh Fearnley~Wittingstall and Marco Pierre White, along with Bill Nighty and comedian Jimmy Carr.
The Marlboro is a family run business established in 1974 and is still run today by the second and third generations of the Johnson Family, many of the staff too are second and third generation with some having worked for the business for over 30 years. Maybe this is the secret to providing excellently cooked fish and chips, by passing the secret down through the generations!
Next year (2014) sees the Marlboro celebrate its 40th Anniversary with many events marked to celebrate the occasion.
