Lullingstone and Preston Hill Country Park

Lullingstone and Preston Hill Country Park

Lullingstone Country Park is set in the Darent Valley, between Eynsford and Shoreham, and has breathtaking open grassland that is full with wildflowers in springtime.

The visitor centre offers exceptional facilities including a café, toilets and shop. It has a full range of information about the park's landscape, wildlife and history. In addition to this, a fully equipped education centre enables groups of all ages, from primary schools to adult art and conservation groups, to learn about all aspects of the countryside. Lullingstone now offers a unique meeting room for hire. The park is an excellent venue for a business meeting, a workshop, training, a club meeting or a good old get together. More information on hiring a room at Lullingstone is available from the Countryside venues page.

An excellent guide is on hand for a 6.5 mile circular walk from the visitor centre, passing through the close by village of Shoreham. The route is within a few hundred metres of Shoreham railway station, on the line from London Blackfriars to Sevenoaks; so visitors can leave their cars at home.

The Darent Valley Path runs past the park, offering more opportunities to explore the local countryside.

Preston Hill
This Site of Special Scientific Interest is open to the public subject to certain restrictions. In the summer months Preston Hill is covered with wild flowers. A range of butterflies including chalkhill blues and dark green fritillaries can also be observed on the chalk grassland. This grassland is managed by grazing the park's own herd of feral goats, which came from the Great Orme, near Colwyn Bay in North Wales.

It is recommended that visitors use the car park in Lullingstone Country Park.
The nearest train station is Shoreham or Eynsford (2.5 miles).
