Hellfire Caves West Wycombe

Hellfire Caves, also known as West Wycombe Caves, are a network of man-made chalk caverns which extend 400 metres underground.

Together with Medmenham Abbey, near Henley , the caves became a meeting place for the infamous 'Hell Fire Club' founded by the estate owner Sir Fancis Dashwood. The club and its members became legendary for their debauched and ritualistic antics.

Now statues, commentaries and sound effects bring their colourful story to life. Visitors cross the River Styx and explore the winding passages, Banqueting Hall and Inner Temple some 300 feet beneath the hilltop Church of St Lawrence.

Visit the WEBSITE for Hellfire Caves.

Opening times: Caves: weekdays, Mar to Oct 11am-5.30pm. Sat, Sun and Bank Holidays throughout the year 11am-5.30pm (or dusk).

The Caves can be hired for special events, parties, dinners, dances etc for anything up to 200 guests.
