Sue and Tony welcome you to Hartnells B&B, a delightful 4 Star Grade II listed cottage offering a sense of old world charm with modern facilities to provide the most enjoyable stay. You will be greeted with tea and home-made cake, or as an optional extra you can arrange for a cream tea to await you which can be taken in the garden, weather permitting.
The building has wonderfully thick walls to both insulate in the winter months but also to keep cool in the summer making sure you are comfortable at all times. A new central heating system also ensures ample hot water.
WiFi internet connection is available and there is ample off road parking. Well behaved dogs are also welcome.
The property offers 3 bedrooms, 2 doubles and 1 single over two floors with an en-suite downstairs and a shower room upstairs. Both doubles can be arranged with 6ft super king double beds or twin beds with the upstairs double having the option of being used as a family suite with the single which is on the same floor.
All rooms have non-allergenic pillows, tv’s and tea making facilities.
Check-in is from 4pm on the day of arrival although earlier times can be arranged by appointment. Departure is by 10.30 am please.
Hartnells has been awarded the Visit Britain breakfast award so you can be assured of the quality of the locally sourced ingredients and home-made breads and preserves.
Breakfast options include:
Full English breakfast of fruit/fruit juice, cereal, porridge or muesli, your choice of eggs with bacon, sausage, tomato, mushroom and beans. Finished with some lovely home-made toast or bread (brown or white).
Continental breakfast of fruit/fruit juice, home-made bread (brown or white) and croissants.
There are also alternative house specials such as smoked salmon with creamy scrambled eggs, a variety of omelettes or perhaps eggy bread muffins with bacon. Special dietary requirements can be catered for with advanced notification.
All breakfasts are served with tea and freshly made coffee.
Please note that whilst Hartnells does its best to accommodate all visitors, due to the age and layout of the building some guests may find it difficult to move around. Please check the website for a full accessibility statement or contact Hartnells directly.
Rooms are priced at £40 - £45 per person per night although discounts may be arranged for longer stays. This includes the renowned English or continental breakfast cooked to order.
A £20 per person non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking, however if a minimum of 2 weeks notice is given and the room can be re-let then a refund may be offered.  A receipt will be sent along with directions at the time of booking and any other information you may require. Please advise of any dietary requirements at this time and let us know an estimated time of arrival so we can ensure some tea and cakes await.
As credit cards are not accepted payment can be by either cash or cheque with guarantee card.
Ideally situated for walking or touring trips over Exmoor, the Brendon Hills and the Quantock Hills and the quaint villages that provide great character to the area. There are many walks available including the South West Coastal Path, The Macmillan Way and the Coleridge Way. There are also plenty of horse riding stables in the area with all the open spaces over the hills ideal for horse riding and pony trekking.
Local places to see include the Holnicote Estate, the wonderful villages of Porlock and Watchet, Dunster with its magnificent Castle and the seaside town of Minehead. A trip on the West Somerset Railway which travels through Williton on its way from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard is also a must for any visitor old and young alike.
