Golden Lion Inn
An Introduction to Golden Lion Inn
The Golden Lion Inn is situated on Lanadwell Street right in the heart of Padstow. Only yards from the harbour, restaurants, bars and shops.
Martin and Sarah Rickard welcome you to the Golden Lion. The inn dates back to the 14th century and is the oldest inn in Padstow. We are situated at the top of Lanadwell street, opposite the cinedrome about a 1 minute walk from the quay.
The Golden Lion has three individually decorated en-suite rooms - two double and one twin/double.
All rooms have TV and tea/coffee making facilities.
We can offer storage for bicycles if you bring your own, however we do not have any car park facilities. There are plenty of car parks all within walking distance and all offer a 24 hour rate.
We are a friendly oldie-worldly pub, with an open fire and parquet flooring in the public bar. There is a family room where children are made very welcome and a lounge bar to the rear. At the back of the pub there is a patio area which can be covered if required!!
We offer a selection of home cooked food, our highly regarded steaks and meat are from Button Meats, a family butcher who sources only top grade local meat. There are daily special boards with homemade soups pies and fish dishes plus much more.
The Golden Lion is the stable of the Old 'Oss which, on the 1st May each year dances through the streets of Padstow to the sound of drums and accordions. 'Obby 'Oss, as it is known, is one of the oldest festivals in Europe. Some old Padstonians travel from all over the world to be apart of it. It all begins at midnight the night, before when the Night Singers sing to the landlord and land lady of the Golden Lion, and ends at midnight on the 1st May.
