Dog Friendly Holidays
Bringing the dog along on one’s holidays is a great way to complete the family holiday experience, and holidaying with your pet is today easier than ever.
The dog-friendly choice is no longer limited and the UK is now home to a wide range of dog-friendly accommodation of all kinds, from log cabins to B&Bs, and hotels to barn conversions.
Taking the dog, or dogs, on your jollies makes sense on a number of levels, not least saving on kennel fees. Some places will take dogs for an additional, nominal fee but most don’t. Either way it’s cheaper than a kennel.
Dog friendly self-catering cottages
East Lodge Cottage is a delightful holiday home located in Bakewell, in the heart of the Peak District National Park. The cottage, which sleeps four, is listed as a place of historical interest, and overlooks the River Wye with views towards Bakewell town centre, just a five minute walk away.

Dog friendly bed & breakfasts
The White Horse is a family-owned AA four star Inn providing en-suite accommodation in the seaside village of Overstrand in Norfolk. All eight en-suite rooms have been recently refurbished and the four star rating of 2008 was upgrade to four star highly commended.
The famous Yorkshire Bridge Inn at Ladybower is also AA 4 Star rated (gold) and became a 2010 Gold winner at the East Midlands Tourism Awards for Pub Experience of the Year. This charming residential Inn, located next to Ladybower reservoir in the Peak District, is in a great spot for dogs.

Shank Wood Log Cabin is an eco-friendly found in the woods in Cumbria, near the Lake District. The cabin sleeps up to four people and has received fantastic reviews in the national press.
Near Ashbourne in the Peak District is the five star Sandybrook Country Park, where self-catering pinelodges can be found in the former grounds of Sandybrook Hall, an elegant 19th Century manor house.
Dog friendly hotels
The Episode Hotel in Leamington Spa is just a short walk from Warwick Castle, close to the Cotswolds. 31 en-suite bedrooms provide excellent accommodation in this classic town house hotel.
