Derbyshire Heritage Walks Guided walks for small groups around Derbyshire and the Peak District Specialists in the history and heritage of the Derwent Valley
Derbyshire Heritage Walks offers guided walks for small groups around the county of Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park. Many of the walks have a history or heritage theme, and are led by a guide with over 30 years experience of leading guided walks around the key sites of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site and elsewhere.
Both half-day and full-day walks are available, either as a scheduled open walk or a private booking. Half-day walks typically cover distances of up to five miles and take up to three hours to complete. Full-day walks usually cover distances between seven and fifteen miles, lasting for up to eight hours including a lunch break. Half-day walks and some full-day walks are available year-round, while other full-day walks are available from March to November.
As the routes of most walks follow established footpaths, roads, tracks, walking trails and canal towpaths, no prior walking experience or specialist equipment is required. All you'll need is some stout sensible footwear, waterproof clothing (as we walk in all weathers), and some food and water for the longer walks. Most of our walks are also easily accessible by public transport, so you don't have to worry about parking.
If you love the beautiful Derbyshire scenery, and have an interest in the history and heritage of the area, then a walk with Derbyshire Heritage Walks could be just what you are looking for. Details of all our current walks can be found on our website - https://derbysheritagewalks.com.
