The Chilterns are perfect for cycling with a choice of routes and trails to suit all levels of experience.

The Chilterns has hundreds of miles of country roads and quiet lanes, perfect for exploring by bike. The following are just a selection of the trails you can choose from in the area.

 

Chilterns Cycleway A circular route using quiet lanes around the whole of the Chilterns, ideal for leisure cyclists, providing many choices for day rides.

Phoenix Trail, National Cycle Network Route 57
A seven mile flat route from Princes Risborough to Thame. Click HERE.

Icknield Way Riders Route
A 23 mile long distance route through the Chilterns; the route follows the oldest track in Britain, dating from Neolithic times (4,000-2,000 B.C) Click HERE.

Wendover Woods Cycle Trails
6 miles mainly on forest tracks.  Routes signposted. Click HERE

MOUNTAIN BIKING: For mountain bike enthusiasts, the Aston Hill Moutain Bike Area, near Wendover Woods, has great off-road trails, with medium, hard and extreme difficulty sections.  Click HERE
