Built on the East Cliff at Ramsgate over looking the English Channel and Dover Straights out towards France and beyond! The Ramsgate Royal Harbour Approach Channel is easily seen by day as the Channel buoy markers are passed by Ferries, Pilot Boats and numerous pleasure craft making their way into the
Harbour entrance, not to mention fishing boats and the regular kite surfers which are a great sight to see.
At dusk the view takes on a different hue as the Channel buoys light the way by a sequence of particular light characteristics of red and green flashes that will keep you enthralled for hours.
Opposite the cottage, below East Cliff, is Ramsgates famous sandy beach check the tide table and enjoy a 3km stroll all the way to Broadstairs by beach enjoy the marvellous ice cream and coffee parlours or fish and chips then return to Coastguards Cottage via the King George VI Memorial Park and witness the Paraqueets flying overhead!
