The Coast to Coast Trail
An 11 mile trail between North Coast Portreath and South Coast Devoran. The trail is a former tram road linking two harbours
Portreath in North Cornwall is the starting point of this cycle ride. More suitable for cycling but can also be a pleasant walk. An 11 mile ride between North and South Cornish Coasts.The trail can be used by all cyclists and there areas off the main trail for those who prefer tougher terrain.
Once the main tram road for the transport of Copper, the area is now a trail through time as the beauty of the Portreath Valley encompasses the historic mining landscapes and buildings from North to South. You can join the trail at various points if you do not wish to complete the full 11 miles. There are also many places to stop for a picnic or local pubs to find refreshments.
Just before the half way point, there is the Plume of Feathers public house, in Scorrier, where you can stop for refreshments. The pub is close to the world famous Rodda's Creamery.
The trail passes through the tidal lake at Restronguet Creek and is a popular location with its natural beauty and wildlife.
