Cley Windmilll - Prices £405 to £550
Cley windmill located on North Norfolk coast bed & breakfast and self catering an experience not to be missed.
Cley Windmill dates from the early 18th Century and is a well-known landmark on the north Norfolk coast. It commands breathtaking views over the salt marshes to Blakeney Point and the sea, while nestling comfortably by the old quay, and alongside the flint-walled cottages of the village.
The windmill itself has been converted into a guesthouse of immense character, charm and comfort. The old stables and boathouses are now stylish bedrooms with Dovecote a self catering retreat for independent holidaymakers.
We welcome both B&B and Self Catering guests. The windmill is also available for private house parties and weddings, should you wish to entertain your guests in a unique and magical setting.
if you are unable to arrive before 9.00pm, please let us know in advance and we will arrange for keys and directions to your room(s) to be left out.
All our rooms are ensuite. They also have TVs although we do ask residents in the "round rooms" to use the headphones provided. All rooms have kettles and your basket of tea and coffee will be replenished every day.
Small children and babies: we are very happy to welcome families with young children to the windmill but hope you will understand that some of our rooms are not suitable (sound-wise) or large enough (cot-wise) to accommodate you. Wheel, Stone and Wheat are best visited by couples! We have a high chair for the dining-room but are not able to provide a cot.
If you need to 'stay in touch' you are most welcome to use our free wireless internet access; however this is only available in the dining-room, Millers or Barley.
Newspapers: these are provided, however the 'arrival' time is variable. There is also a chap in Cley who sells Sunday newspapers from his sitting-room window! The nearest newsagents are either in Blakeney or Holt.
Please let us know if you are feeling chilly and we will happily turn the heating up.
During the winter season (November to March) we are happy to offer tea or coffee (£2.50 per person) or even a Norfolk Cream tea (£5.40 per person) in the sitting-room in front of a roaring log fire.
The original stables have been converted into a well appointed self catering holiday cottage. This comfortable retreat retains many original features and is available (normally on a weekly basis) throughout the year. It can also be let as a bedroom annex, from which guests can enjoy the normal guest house facilities of the windmill.
