The Central shopping area covers the area around Bath Abbey and the beautiful Pulteney Bridge and is therefore delightfully positioned for browsing during your tour of the City’s heritage.

Covering an area including Stall Street, Union Street, Abbey Green, Cheap Street, High Street as well as the Abbey and Bridge areas there are shops galore including many of your high street names such as Next, Marks and Spencers and W H Smith along with an array of jewellery, fashion, arts, children’s and sweet shops and boutiques which can be found hidden down quaint alleyways and passages.

The alleys and passages make an interesting route through the city and these small backways help you can imagine the lifestyle of Georgian times.

The market has about 20 stalls covering a very wide variety of goods it is not possible to do them all justice here so pop along and immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere. Entrances to the market can be found on High Street and Newmarket Row.
