Carsington Water is a Severn Trent Water reservoir in Derbyshire, between Ashbourne and Wirksworth. It has a visitor centre, sailing club, fishing, and cycling and walking trails.
The visitor centre has within it a permanent exhibition explaining the role of water in our daily lives, and a wide range of facilities including shops selling souvenirs, craft items, embroidery materials, ceramics, books etc and a cafe and restaurant.
Carsington Water has a range of facilities to cater for the needs and interests of all of its visitors. These include, but are not limited to;

• 120 seater restaurant, outdoor café and kiosks

• Wheelchair friendly access

At Carsington Water there's something for everyone:
You can hire bicycles or bring your own and enjoy the various trails around the reservoir.
Our on site fishery provides excellent fly fishing for brown and rainbow trout.
Bring your walking boots as there are plenty of scenic walks in the immediate area around the reservoir but also pathways to other trails that stretch beyond Carsington.
