Carpenters Tinney Cottages and Bed & Breakfast
great for families, a choice of 3 cottages.....
A choice of 3 cosy comfortable family friendly cottages in a courtyard setting set on a traditional Devon smallholding. Bed and breakfast available too!
At the end of a private tree-lined drive, Carpenter's Tinney is a small holding with sheep, pigs, ducks and chickens. On our land you will also see alot of wildlife, birds, badgers, rabbits, deer, foxes and sometimes even otters.
Carpenter's Tinney Cottages have been carefully restored from an old range of stone and cob barns forming part of a traditional courtyard. Inside guests will find cosy rooms with comfortable furnishings. Outside in the flowered courtyard you will find the hot tub. From the courtyard you can wander the delightful grounds which sweep down to the border of Devon and Cornwall, - the River Tamar. You can even have a go at fishing on our river banks, ideal for game fishing.
Carpenter's Tinney is an ideal base for just totally relaxing; if you have children they have the freedom of running around in a big garden and enjoying the climbing frame, swings and sand pit.
Bude, Widemouth Bay and Sandymouth beaches are ideal for body boarding, surfing or just playing in the sand and hunting the rock pools for crabs and sea creatures.
From where we are based you can visit a vast array of attractions ranging from the Eden Project, Castle Drogo, Lanhydrock House, Lydford Gorge, Big Sheep and Crealy Adventure Park. Or visit charming towns and villages such as Clovelly, Boscastle, Tintagel, Padstow and St Ives, which are all about an hour from Carpenter's Tinney. If you feel like spending a whole day out somewhere you could try Lands End or even Lundy Island.
If you like sport there are many opportunities in and around the area. Have a round of golf at Holsworthy, Bude or Launceston golf courses. Walk the costal path or venture on to Dartmoor; you can cycle the West Country Way that runs through Holsworthy and links up to the Tarka Trail. There is even horse riding for all in Bude. Roadford and Tamar Lakes are good for fishing or you could learn to windsurf, sail or canoe.
Which ever season you may visit, whether couples or families, the feeling of "away from it all" is a reflection of Carpenter's. THE COTTAGES

This incorporates an orchard, children's play area, sheep and lamb paddocks, pig pen and seating for relaxation and the enjoyment of Carpenter's pure natural environment.
Keep strolling towards the next gate which leads to the River Tamar meadows. We have purposely left these meadows as a small nature reserve, where, if you have the patience and the time is right, you can see Red and Roe deer, birds of prey soaring in the thermals, kingfishers sweeping and darting along the river, and majestic otters playing.
The idyllic river setting with peace and quite allows some good fishing, fish include Trout, Roach and in late autumn Salmon returning to spawn.
The Hot Tub is a great way to feel totally relaxed and enjoy the sunset and stars!
