(near Barmouth) - .Enjoy sea views from this lovely studio cottage in Dyffryn Ardudwy.
Bwthyn Bach is a lovely little studio cottage on the outskirts of Dyffryn Ardudwy. Newly decorated and furnished to a high standard, the accommodation provides a perfect retreat for couples wanting to explore this part of rural Snowdonia. The open plan kitchen is well equipped with quality stainless steel appliances and has plenty of storage and worktop space. The breakfast bar provides a subtle divide between this area and the lounge. So whoever’s in charge of making tea can keep one eye on the ‘One Show’ whilst cooking. Comfortable leather sofa and flat screen digital TV in the lounge.
For a small cottage the bathroom is surprisingly generous and has a powerful shower but no bath. The bedroom next door is also very comfortable and includes a kingsize bed. With everything on the ground floor, access could not be easier.
Outside there’s a small patio area where you can sit and sip a glass of chilled white wine whilst enjoying the sea views. There also a larger shared garden area with even better views stretching out over Cardigan Bay.
In the summer most people will visit the cottage because of the miles of sandy beaches nearby. And there certainly worth the trip no matter what time of year you decide to stay. But this particular corner of Snowdonia also offers walkers a wealth of undiscovered bridleways and footpaths in some of the most beautiful scenery of the National Park. The mountains here offer a welcome alternative to the more heavily visited peaks to the north. You can walk the higher ridges here all day without bumping into another living sole. I’m not sure if there are many areas in the UK where that’s still true.
There are two pubs in the village both serving food as well as a post office, small grocery store and garage. The larger towns of Barmouth and Harlech are 5 miles to the south and north respectively.
