Broadstairs Folk Week

Come and enjoy our 2012 Folk Week!

We hope you had a lovely Broadstairs Folk Week 2011! We did - and we hope to see you back between 10 -17 August in 2012!

Thank you to all our workforce who did a fantastic job - working so hard to make this the friendly festival. Please come back next year - we simply can't have a Folk Week without your much appreciated contribution.

The Changing Landscapes concert was terrific - thank you to Paul Sartin, Sounds Fresh, Shooting Roots, Folk in Harmony, Wantsum Morris and of course, the Hooden Horse!

Once we have taken a deep breath - we will be working to put together a fantastic Folk Week in 2012. Please continue to support us - join the Friends of Folk Week and you'll be ensuring that this wonderful festival will continue.

Don't forget - 2011 Season Ticket prices will be held until the end of this month - 30th September - so if you give us a call on 01843 604080 - we will be happy to take your booking for 2012! A great Christmas present for someone!

We'll announce new Season Ticket prices and headliners for 2012 in January and the Box Office will also open here in Broadstairs.

The Concert Marquee is where you’ll find all the headline acts performing, located in the middle of the town and a ten-minute walk from the campsite. Once you’ve arrived in Broadstairs – you can walk from venue to venue – all within a beautiful English seaside town.

Everyone has a different Folk Week – ask 50 people what is their favourite part of the festival and they will each tell you something completely different! Whether you are family looking for child-friendly events, younger generation wanting to burn off some dance energy or singers and musicians seeking out a session – Folk Week has something for you.

In 2011, we are really looking forward to Paul Sartin's new composition Changing Landscapes, a specially written piece of music that takes a look at traditional and not so traditional music in Kent. There's still a chance to get involved in this project if you are aged between 10 and 18 and play an instrument - the Sounds Fresh Music Project with Kent Music School is happening now in Broadstairs - more details from www.kent.music.com

During Folk Week there is plenty for all ages to take part in – from the Shooting Roots workshops to the Toddlers’ Singalongs.

Season Tickets are now on sale - with an Early Bird discount - from the Folk Week office on 01843 604080. Give us a call now!
