Acclaimed Dorset Restaurant
AA Rosette rated and winner of a Gold Award in this years Taste of the West Restaurant category, the hotel's restaurant enjoys an enviable reputation, drawing upon West Dorset's wealth of produce from freshly caught fish to organic, local meat, fruit and vegetables - all served without fuss or hurry. Whether it's an alfresco light lunch, a celebratory dinner or a truly unique Dorset wedding venue, then the BridgeHouse is simply unique and perfect.
Our cooking style is fresh, predominantly modern British with a hint of the Continent. Our wine list is eclectic. And our philosophy is 'Keep it simple. No compromise on quality.’
The kitchen team is led by our Heston Blumenthal in waiting, Stephen Pielesz. Trained at the Michelin Star rated, Chewton Glen, he went on to work at the Bath Spa and Bowood Golf & Country Club before joining us. Since taking over the top job at the Brasserie in 2009, Steve has revolutionised the menu culminating with our national headline grabbing dish - the 'All Day Snail Breakfast' - proof that it's still possible to invent a totally original dish from scratch.
Steve is hands on unlike so many celebrity chefs who are rarely seen at the stoves unless there's a camera in sight. Take a peek through the kitchen window on the way to the restaurant. Our brasserie is beautifully chic, relaxed and with a lively atmosphere.
The Brasserie obviously takes some of its culinary cues from France, with a British take on what a brasserie menu should contain. The menu changes seasonally.
