...the highest racecourse in Britain
Celebrating over 200 years of racing, Bath racecourse will be home to around 20 exciting and unique races this year giving you plenty of opportunities to come along for a flutter, enjoy a fabulous day out or maybe make a day of it and dress up in your finest!
Ideally situated on Lansdown Hill overlooking beautiful Bath, the racecourse is an intimate, relaxed and friendly place where you can enjoy time with your friends or family and enjoy the atmosphere and excitement of the races.
The course is a left-hand oval shaped course covering 1 mile and 4 furlongs in circumference. It is the only course in Britain not to have a watering system so can often have firm going during dry summers.
There are a variety of weekday, weekend and evening fixtures to suit everyone so you can make a trip to Bath full of shopping, sight-seeing and plenty of excitement. Dress can be casual or formal (there is a dress code in the Premier Enclosure and hospitality areas) with the option to make it a special day by dressing in your finest, which the ladies often do on Ladies Day. Families are welcome with accompanied children under 16 entering free. There is a small playground to keep the younger ones amused.
20 races are scheduled for 2013 and an itinery can be found on the Racecourse website.
There are 3 basic ticket types, Premier, Grandstand & Paddock, and Centre Course and Picnic Area. Prices vary depending on the event but start from just £10 - although a discount may be available if booked in advance. For information on the ticket types please check the website. Car parking is free.
Bath Racecourse is ideally suited for many types of events including conferences, seminars, weddings, exhibitions and fairs, and private parties. Full details can be obtained from the Racecourse and Conference Centre office on 01225 424609
