Bath Fringe Festival
...200 or so events to entertain, amuse and inform.
The Fringe Festival is a 17 day festival of all the artforms in beautiful Bath with performers from around the world and some very local. The whole city is alive with performances from the usual to the somewhat odd, something for everyone to enjoy and an event definitely making a special trip to see.
Bath can trace its performing history back to the Roman days when street performers would entertain at important Temple Festivals. The current form however can be traced back to the Walcot Festivals of the 70’s and early 80’s. Through various transformations we end up with the Bath Fringe Festival as it is today and with the vast array of talent and differing performances on offer a visit to Bath during this time will leave you enriched and refreshed with history, culture, entertainment and laughter.
Held around the end of May and beginning of June the festival consists of as many forms of art as can be imagined (usually around 200 events) including:
- Film and Multimedia
- Green Events
- Spoken Word
- Visual Arts run by fringeartsbath
- You Dance
- And some with no classification!
There are also kids events in the Spiegeltent with Aldo the Clown, The Magic House, The Balloon Man, The Funky Puppet Show, Ticklish Allsorts and many many more.
