Nestling in the Axe valley in an area of outstanding natural beauty on a 200 acre early 17th century farm Our Holiday cottages have been lovingly restored to create a barn sleeping 6 and four smaller cottages sleeping 3 in one and 2 in each of the
Sleeping 15 in total our holiday cottages have been lovingly restored to retain their original character and are in a courtyard setting with a rill running through the front giving a wonderful ambience.
Our Grade 2 listed stone barn sleeps 6 in 3 double bedrooms - 2 upstairs and 1 downstairs. All have ensuite bathrooms. a cot and high chair are also provided. The kitchen is fully fitted and modern with equipment to cater fully if you should desire. Picnic table and BBQ also provided in the private rear courtyard garden overlooking the fields where you can often see deer grazing.
Our smaller cottages are very spacious, The Wheatsheaf, The Granary and The Cobb sleeping 2 - all have one double bedroom with king or super king size beds and ensuite bathrooms except The Granary which has a bedroom upstairs and bathroom downstairs. Millers Cottage sleeping 3 has a double bedroom and a single bedroom making it ideal for small families. The kitchens are fully fitted and modern with equipment to fully self cater if required. Travel cot and high chair available on request. Gardens are enclosed and lawned with BBQ's and picnic tables provided.
All smaller cottages except The Granary are on one level making them easier for less mobile visitors.
A games room completes the courtyard providing a large entertaining space and table tennis, snooker, table football and darts along with many books and maps, brochures etc of the local area.
2 miles away at the head of the valley are our coarse fishing lakes with stunning panoramic views, a delightful place to take a picnic and sit quietly and watch for the wildlife that frequent the area.
The Jurassic coast is about 20 minutes drive and there are many historical market towns in the area for days out. Golf, clay pigeon shooting, llama trekking, cycling are all available locally.
Our prices range from £360 to £830 for a week in our barn sleeping 6 or £245 to £475 for a smaller cottage sleeping 2 or 3.
Other than summer school holidays in the barn when start days are saturdays all other times are flexible start dates and durations.
Minimum duration of stay is two nights which is charged at 50% or week's tariff.
Pets are welcome and our four legged friends find us doggy heaven!
We have many returning visitors, some come year after year, and some several times in a year. Comments in our guest books say we are warm, cosy, clean, and well equipped with excellent beds, good value for money, quiet, great for dogs, exceed expectations.
