Apartment 5, Trefriw

Apartment 5

Apartment 5 is on the first floor of a beautifully grand Victorian property in Trefriw, half way between Betws Y Coed and Conwy. This spacious three-bedroom apartment has been finished to an exceptionally high standard and is located in great spot for exploring this popular part of North Wales.

The south facing living rom was bathed with light during my visit thanks to the large bay window at one end of the room. A large marble dining table sits within the bay. The surrounding Snowdonia countryside reflected on its mirror like surface whilst straight-backed chairs stand guard around the perimeter.

This large living space also encompasses the kitchen and seating area. The fitted kitchen is well equipped as you’d expect in a 5 star self-catering property such as this. The seating area includes two leather sofas and a flat screen TV and dvd player. More seating is provided in a small study room just off the main living area.

There are 3 bedrooms in total. The first bedroom is huge. The king sized bed is dwarfed within a beautiful room of pale walls and high ceilings. Two cream chairs sit at the foot of a tall window and to the right we have the doorway to a modern en-suite shower room.

The second double room also houses a king-sized bed. No en-suite this time but there is a large family bathroom next door with a shower over bath. All the bathroom furniture has been tastefully chosen and newly fitted. The final 3rd bedroom is smaller and just has the single bed. But like the other bedrooms, the bedding and accompanying fixtures are faultless.

The Local Area

There are two pubs in Trefriew, both within easy walking distance. A third bistro type restaurant can be found just on the outskirts of the village. A private lane adjacent to the property also provides guests with a pleasant walk to the larger town of Llanrwst, some two miles away. But many other beautiful walks can be enjoyed right from your doorstep. One of the most notable perhaps being the walk up past the Fairy Falls to Llyn Crafnant / Crafnant Lake. The view from here is arguably one of the most breathtaking in Snowdonia.

The river Crafnant which stems from the lake and runs through the village used to power a number of woollen mills in this area. The one remaining example now opens its doors to many visitors through out the summer as well as producing some very fine welsh wool tweed.

The popular town of Betws Y Coed is some 4.5 miles to the south and the seaside town of Conwy is a little further to the North. So guests to this luxury holiday apartment near Betws Y Coed can be lying on a sandy beach in the morning before throwing themselves down steep mountain biking trails in the afternoon. The choice is yours.
