Red Lion Bar & Bistro

Bistro
All our food is sourced locally from our extended ‘Garden that is Derbyshire’ we also proudly produce our own lettuce, tomatoes and herbs in our very own back garden. Our chef’s passion for delicious food means our menus change up to twice each month to include exciting new dishes. Daily specials are also available on our specials board and if you can’t see your favourite dish, our chefs are always happy to take advanced requests.

Fresh fish is a firm favourite of ours and we like to celebrate twice a year with a fabulous seafood festival. All the fish is delivered fresh from Anglesey and our menu includes favourites such as Lobster, Shrimp and Oyster.

As part of National Game Fortnight we like to celebrate with a Game Festival with dishes including Rabbit Wellington, Wood Pigeon and Pheasant.

We welcome you to relax and unwind in our lounge bar with friends, family or colleagues. The real open fires, low lighting and comfy sofas create the perfect atmosphere.

We offer a large selection of beers and local ales and boast an extensive range of over 20 different wines.

Dating back to the 17th Century, The Red Lion is nestled on the edge of Derbyshire's beautiful Peak District National Park. 

An idyllic countryside setting and only minutes away from all major road networks and transport links, The Red Lion really is the perfect venue to celebrate your special day.

Our promise to you is that we will only ever have one wedding a day, allowing you and your guests to relax and enjoy your wedding celebrations!

We have a completely flexible approach and our dedicated wedding coordinator will be on hand throughout to offer you advice, guidance and support.

We are licensed for civil ceremonies in all of our function suites for up to 180 guests. 
 

The Orangery

Boasting picturesque views over the Derbyshire countryside and with direct access to the outside terrace, The Orangery is a beautiful space to say your vows, enjoy dinner or dance the night away.

The Orangery and The Harewood suite can be used as two separate spaces or as one large open space creating additional seating for a civil ceremony or formal dinner.

The Harewood
A more intimate atmosphere, ideal for a smaller reception, civil ceremony or formal dinner.

The Ashover
Self contained with its own bar, dance floor and amenities. The Ashover can accommodate guests for a civil ceremony, formal dinner and evening reception.
 
For larger weddings for up to 500 guests we have the space to attach a marquee to the terrace adjacent to the Orangery.

We also offer exclusive hire of The Red Lion which includes the main bar and bistro along with the three suites for an additional charge.

The Ashover suite

Fully self contained, enabling up to 120 delegates to be seated theatre style.
