Merle Cottage is a stone built end-terraced cottage on the edge of the Pennine village of Middleton-In-Teesdale near to Barnard Castle. With one double bedroom, one twin and a family bathroom, the cottage sleeps four people. Also included in the cottage is a fitted kitchen/diner with a sitting area and open fire and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. To the outside is a small enclosed garden with a patio and garden furniture and roadside parking opposite the cottage. Set in stunning countryside, Merle Cottage is bound to appeal to anyone looking to discover this part of the country.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the 'Winter' period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the 'Low' and 'Mid' periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
'Last Minute Breaks' (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the 'LOW', 'MID', 'HIGH', 'PEAK', 'XMAS' and 'NEW YEAR' periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

,The location, loved the waterfalls and the walks and we would also recommend Killenhope Lead Mine tour to anybody especially if they had kids and we could take the dog. The garden at the cottage was dog friendly and well enclosed. In the past we have had problems with the garden not being fenced but this was great.
