Norfolk Holiday Accommodation in 17th Century Converted Barn
Self-catering in unspoilt rural setting, Lamas near Aylsham
A wonderful place to stay at any time of year
Hall Farm Barn, a 17th Century converted barn, (sleeps 4) is to be found in the pretty village of Lamas/Buxton. It is in a truly idyllic and tranquil location close to the River Bure with 300 metres of its own riverbank - perfect for coarse fishing which is payable by the day. It overlooks open fields and Lamas church.
The River Bure meanders prettily among the meadows of North Norfolk, passing quietly through the National Trust's Blickling Hall estate, skirting the attractive market town of Buxton, through Oxnead water mill, then a big lazy loop by Lamas church before feeding Buxton Mill and then on down to the Norfolk Broads. Perfect for walkers but local bicycle hire is also available in order to explore this wonderful countryside.
A warm welcome awaits you at Hall Farm Barn. It is private and self contained and provides comfortable accommodation for 4 people with a stunning large sitting room with a big woodburner. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, electric hob/oven, microwave, and a table and chairs for 4 people. It has a twin bedroom upstairs next to the bathroom and a double bedroom off the sitting room area (a heavy curtain provides complete privacy).
There is a widescreen TV, DVD, and it has good WiFi broadband connection. Towels, linen, and electricity are all included in the price. However oil fired central heating is only included during the Winter months between 1st October and 1st April. The stunning large log burner provides ample warmth during the Summer months.
Outside there is parking for at least 2 cars and a private courtyard garden to relax in.
Buxton is our main village with a general store, post office, fish and chip shop and 2 pubs, but there is a wider range of shops in the market town of Aylsham (3 miles) and North Walsham (5miles).
A gentle 15 minute stroll across the fields takes you to the Goat Inn at Skeyton who give a warm welcome. They have swings etc for children and welcome pets too. They also offer a good local beer.
