Description of property

Overlooking the parish church in the popular market town of Cockermouth is this delightful cottage – a quaint, terraced property. With many original features such as exposed beams, the cottage has a very welcoming feel, which is added to by the inclusion of a four poster bed and multi-fuel stove. The snug sitting room doubles as a dining area whilst the fitted kitchen boasts a pantry. The town centre is only a short walk away and is composed of a variety of Georgian buildings and a newly refurbished market place. There is also an abundance of traditional, old pubs and excellent eating places.

Storage heaters throughout with additional heating from multi-fuel stove in sitting/dining area. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, colour TV with Freeview, DVD player, radio, stereo/CD player, library of books/games. Power and initial supply of logs and coal for multi-fuel stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Roadside parking, plus additional car park within 30 yds. One well behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shops 2 mins walk, pub 1 min walk. Note: Due to steep stairs, this property is unsuitable for the infirm.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the 'Winter' period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.

Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the 'Low' and 'Mid' periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.

'Last Minute Breaks' (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the 'LOW', 'MID', 'HIGH', 'PEAK', 'XMAS' and 'NEW YEAR' periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

Property feedback

The cottage was located in an 'easy to find your way round' town and situated within reach of Buttermere and Bassenthwaite. First time in years we've holidayed in England and would definitely go back to Cockermouth.

,The Lakes and Mountains - beautiful. The 'Bitter End' public house was excellent and just three or four doors away from the cottage.
